Create

Creatives create. In fact, we have a need to create. If we’re not creating, something’s wrong. Whether it’s down to a lack of time, life getting busier as the days go by, or procrastinating our way out of it, it’s never a good thing when a creative stops creating. Our brains don’t like it. Our bodies don’t like it. Our purpose is to create, and if we can’t fulfill that, it hurts.

Some people say that we live to create, because our minds are so focused on those creative juices, the will to keep creating.

Some of us write.

     Others draw.

Sculpt.

     Paint.

Compose.

     Photograph.

Sketch.

     Sew.

Build.

     Sing.

Play.

But we all create.

It’s what we do.

And RAD Writing and Mavguard Magazine exist to support the creatives. We’re working toward avenues to support every branch of creativity, to become a community of creatives where we can all share our work and let it be known that we create.

For now, we support who we can. We publish who we can. We help who we can.

Because we know what it’s like to be a creative, and we know how it feels when creatives get to share their creativity with the world.

We feel the same pride when we release a magazine or a novel.

We also know what it’s like to be stuck in a rut, to be out of creative juices and trapped in a place between creative ventures.

Today, I want to encourage you. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Keep creating. Never stop. Work through whatever’s going on around you. Fight every voice in your head that says you can’t do it, that says it’s not worth trying. Keep creating. Do what makes you happy, what brings you joy. Never let that joy fade away. Keep going. Keep fighting. Keep creating.

Whether you create by building robots or painting flowers, keep going. RAD Writing and Mavguard Magazine stand behind you. I stand behind you. I believe in you, in the ability within you to create.

So go. Do it. Create.

And never look back.
