Do it.

It’s that time, the part of the season that most of us come to dread if only for the sheer mass of television ads that, let’s face it, none of us really want to hear.

It’s election time, here in the good ol US of A.

Yeah, yeah, everyone’s talking about the election right now, and we’re ready to be done with it. But after Tuesday we will be done with it, so you only have a few more days to go. Breathe. I believe in you.

You creatives out there, I need you to do something for me.

I need you to vote. Whether it’s today or next Tuesday, I need you to vote. Too few people have their voices heard, and we’re one of those groups. The government doesn’t pay much attention to creatives because we don’t make them, we tend to sit down and shut up when it comes to politics. Well, now’s the chance for your voice to be heard.

Go vote.

It’s your voice in the nation.

It’s a chance for you to give your opinion, when someone is actually asking for it. (*wink*) But it’s also an opportunity for you to tell your government what you expect of it. And that’s a good thing. The government needs to know we won’t just roll over, and our candidate needs to know that we’ll hold them to the word of their platform.

It’s your right to select a candidate.

Not a lot of nations give their people the right to a vote like this. We’re the ones who get to decide who’s going to lead us. By not voting, you’re saying that you don’t care. You’re rolling over and letting someone else decide for you.

Don’t do that! It’s your right to get out there and vote. So get on Google, look up your ballot, do your research, and go vote!

It’s your civil duty to have your voice and the voice of others like you be heard.

I’m using creatives as an example, because that’s what I am, but you’re a voice for a whole slew of people out there who feel the same about the world as you do. Whatever you believe in, you’re a voice for that group. Be that voice. Be that vote. Don’t let the election fall into the pile of things you don’t care about.

This season is one for your voice to be heard… but to be heard, you first have to speak.

Go vote.
