Giving Thanks

You know, for me, Thanksgiving is more than just a time to be thankful for the things we have and the things we’re striving toward. It’s a time to celebrate friends and family, a time when we can look around us and see the joy in our country, despite the news media trying to show us otherwise. It’s the one day of the year when almost everyone sits down and says to themselves, “yeah, I do have something to be thankful for.” Whether that’s a roof over your head and a hot meal in your belly, a pair of shoes on your feet, or just the joy of living—we all have a reason to give thanks.

But for today, I give thanks for you, our readers. Thank you all so much for joining RAD Writing on this wild and crazy adventure through the corporate world, thank you for following us and sticking with us, despite our youngness. Yeah, we’re a small company. We’ve only just started scratching the surface on the things we want to do as a company, but you guys get to see it all from the start.

Thank you, for that. Thank you for being you. Nobody else could do that.

I talked to the other editors at RAD, over the weekend, to gather what they had to say about one of my favorite holidays…

Thanksgiving is the time of year when I look at everything I’ve done, everything we’ve done, as a company, and I celebrate it. Ten years ago, I would never have imagined that I would be here, publishing books for a living. I wouldn’t have even thought it possible. But now here I am, editing nonstop, contracting new clients, working with amazing authors who a lot of companies wouldn’t have even looked at, and I’m so thankful that I took that step and am doing what I love to do.

What am I thankful for?

I’m thankful for the people who made this happen, who continue to make RAD happen every day, for the artists who’ve become a part of our family, and for the fans, without whose support, this wouldn’t happen at all.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

As we start this Holiday season, know that I am personally thankful for each of you who is reading this note. I am thankful for you who have submitted your work to Rad, for the trust you have given us with your creative gifts. As a writer and artist, entrusting one’s work to someone else for editing and use is a gift indeed. It is a gift we treasure every time we are given the opportunity to work with you. Thank you, and I wish you peace, the company of beloved family and friends, and inspiration by the plateful this Thanksgiving.
